Watch the Full Overview

We recommend watching the full video before beginning and then following step by step below!

Step 1

Trim Hair & Cleanse the Skin

Trim hair to be the length of a grain of rice.

Remove all lotions, oils, sweat, and other products from the skin.

Any esthetic wipe will work for this

Step 2

Dry the Skin

Use a paper towel to absorb any moisture on the skin.

Sugar will not stick if there is any moisture present.

Step 3

Apply the Powder

Lightly place powder evenly across the skin to prepare for sugaring. The powder will ensure the skin is free of moisture. Dust off with a paper towel or clean, dry cloth.

Arrowroot powder, Tapioca Powder, or Baby Power work well for this

Step 4

Heat & Grab the Sugar

Take off the lid and aluminum seal from the sugar jar. No need to heat the sugar if it is kept at 73° Fahrenheit. If the sugar is too cold, place in the microwave and heat at 10 second intervals until you get the consistency shown in the video below.

The sugar should be soft and moldable like honey, but not runny. If it overheats, you can wait for the sugar to cool to the correct consistency (around 73°).

Use three fingers (like a claw) to grab a golf ball amount of sugar out of the jar (use more or less depending on the area). Leave your pinky finger extended.

Use three fingers and your thumb to swirl and shape the sugar as shown in the Step 4 video. This ensures you maintain control of the sugar.

Step 5

Apply & Mold the Sugar

Hold the skin taut with your non-dominant hand.

Begin at the bottom of the hair growth and apply the sugar slowly against the direction of hair growth.

Maintain a claw-like position with your hand—fingers bent. Your goal is to scoop under the hair using the tips of your fingers.

When you reach the end of the desired hair removal area:

  • Stop moving the sugar.
  • Fold your hand over flat.
  • Use your supporting hand to bring your fingers flat and glide off.

Repeat the molding process at least three times.

Step 6

Remove the Sugar

Place three fingertips flat at the end of the sugared strip.

Hold the skin taut with your non-dominant hand.

Flick the sugar off the skin and immediately apply pressure to soothe the area.

Repeat the flicking process down the treated area as needed.

Touch up the area by removing any remaining hairs with additional light sugaring flicks

How to Clean Up

Clean up is easy!

1) Simply discard of the used sugar.

2) Wash your hands with soap and warm water.

3) Use an esthetic wipe to clean the areas that you just sugared.

4) Be sure to put the lid tightly back on your sugar and store in a cool, dry place (optimal storage temperature is 73°).

Done!
